Our team of board-certified specialists—including pediatric orthopaedic surgeons and sports medicine specialists—and orthopaedics-trained staff provide a full spectrum of care for disorders of the bones, joints, ligaments, tendons and muscles. We provide coordinated care for a seamless experience, innovative programs and specialized treatments, and pediatric expertise, equipment and facilities. Children especially are prone to orthopaedic conditions and injuries because their bodies are in a constant state of growth. We understand that children are still growing and require specially trained experts with experience treating their unique needs. Our clinical and support staff is specially trained to care for children from infants to adolescents. Our team includes orthopaedic surgeons, physical and occupational therapists, physiatrists, neurosurgeons and neurologists, rheumatologists, pulmonologists, cardiologists, nurses and nurse practitioners, physician assistants and orthopaedic technicians.

At the CHOC Spine Center, our world-renowned specialists treat more Orange County children and adolescents with spine conditions than any other hospital. From easing back pain to correcting the most extreme spine curvatures, our multidisciplinary team covers a wide range of spinal conditions, including scoliosis, congenital and neuromuscular spinal deformities, kyphosis and kyphoscoliosis, spondylolysis and spondylolisthesis, tumors and traumatic injuries. The CHOC Sports Medicine Program offers young athletes unrivaled services for their sports-related needs, including care from board-certified physicians, access to multidisciplinary specialists, state-of-the-art diagnostics, surgical techniques and on-site rehabilitation facilities. Our specialists work one-on-one with each patient to develop a unique diagnosis and treatment plan—with an emphasis on preserving future growth and function, and a safe return to play. The orthopaedic team provides consultations and treatment for hip problems of any complexity, including developmental hip dislocation, Perthes disease, slipped capital femoral epiphysis impingement, trauma, infection, overuse and hip conditions in children with cerebral palsy and spina bifida. Our pediatric-trained orthopaedic surgeons offer expertise in adolescent conditions requiring hip reconstructive and joint preservation surgery to prevent premature osteoarthritis. Our pediatric-trained specialists have unrivaled experience in treating clubfoot and other foot disorders in infants and children, including congenital limb defects, flat foot, polydactyly of toes, idiopathic toe-walking and inward twisting of the femur, shin bones or forefoot. As the only dedicated pediatric hand program in Orange County, we offer comprehensive consultation, treatment and rehabilitation for congenital or acquired hand conditions. We are among the world’s foremost experts in the reconstruction of children’s hand deformities, with microsurgical toe-to-hand transfers and complex reconstruction of the forearm, wrist and hand. Our skilled orthopaedic specialists use the very latest techniques to help give a child with a limb defect a normal and active future.
