Dr. Michael Peyton, Pediatric Sports Medicine
Dr. Michael Peyton is a board-certified pediatric sports medicine physician within Rady Children’s Orthopedic Institute, who provides expert care for infants, children, adolescents and young adults with a wide variety of sports- and musculoskeletal-related conditions. He specializes in the evaluation and treatment of acute and overuse sports injuries, fractures, concussions, joint and tendon disorders, and conditions affecting the growing athlete. Dr. Peyton also performs comprehensive sports physicals, diagnostic musculoskeletal ultrasound, and ultrasound-guided procedures when appropriate to improve diagnostic accuracy and patient comfort.
Dr. Peyton is a member of the American Medical Society for Sports Medicine (AMSSM), Pediatric Research in Sports Medicine (PRISM), and the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP). His clinical interests include pediatric sports injuries, concussion management, musculoskeletal ultrasound, and injury prevention. He has participated in research and educational initiatives focused on advancing evidence-based sports medicine and improving outcomes for young athletes.
