Fetal Care Center of Southern California
When you’re pregnant, you want the best for your baby. We know an unexpected diagnosis can be scary. At the Fetal Care Center of Southern California, we deal with the unexpected every day, and have helped many families make the best plan for their baby’s birth and medical care.
As a partnership between UCI Health and Rady Children’s Health, the Fetal Care Center of Southern California brings together experts in maternal-fetal medicine and pediatrics, so both mom and baby are cared for—no matter the diagnosis. Our support for families starts in the fetal period and goes far beyond.

Title: Fetal Care Center of Southern California
Dr. Jolley: We have come together to be able to support families with regard to what this means for the baby, what this means for the pregnancy, for the pregnant patient and what this looks like on the day of delivery, the day after delivery and beyond. When a family is given a diagnosis at the time of their ultrasound it is virtually always unexpected and life-changing. And that’s what the Fetal Care Center is able to provide is the group of specialists that are dedicated to making sure that this baby and family are ushered into their new journey with as much care and attention and information as they need.
Jeong: Families can expect a comprehensive, collaborative care environment. Any questions that they might have, we have the resources to answer them.
Dr. Jolley: The Fetal Care Center is for all families with pregnancies complicated by fetal disease or fetal abnormalities identified on prenatal ultrasound or with a family history. We have dedicated nurse co-ordinators who will introduce themselves right after the referral is received. They will help usher you toward the day where you will come in, have the imaging, have the discussions with the specialists, and leave here with a plan for the rest of the pregnancy and baby’s birthday.
Jeong: The Special Delivery Unit is the inpatient complement to the outpatient Fetal Care Center.
Danielle: Our facility was designed specifically with the patient in mind. They’re going to be cared for by a very skilled and competent team.
Dr. Jolley: Not all babies with fetal anomalies and fetal diseases need to deliver at the Special Delivery Unit. It is specifically special because it is for the highest risk babies in what we hope are the healthiest mothers.
Jeong: We’re bringing comprehensive, collaborative care to provide answers for you.
Danielle: I would tell them that they’re in good hands.
Dr. Jolley: You’re in the right place. We’re here for you. We’re here for your baby. We will join you on this journey and give you all of the information and the support that you need.
