Erin Benekos is a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner and member of CHOC Medical Group, specializing in adolescent medicine. After years of dedicated work in the field of hematology, Erin shifted to focusing on supporting patients as they navigate the steps of transitioning their healthcare needs from the pediatric to adult health care realm. She provides expert care to adolescents and young adults with medical complexity. Erin is the clinical lead for the Adolescent to Adult Bridge (A2B) Program, evaluating and supporting adolescents and young adults as they transition from pediatric to adult healthcare.
Erin received her Master of Science in Nursing from California State University, Long Beach. She is actively pursuing a doctoral degree to advance her expertise in transition medicine, engage in research activities, and contribute to academic endeavors. Erin has numerous publications, reflecting her commitment to advancing knowledge and improving practices in this critical area of healthcare.
Her professional interests include optimizing health outcomes for young adults with complex care needs and rare conditions, enhancing transitional care practices, and empowering patients and their families through education and advocacy. Erin is committed to fostering independence and promoting lifelong health and wellness for all her patients.
