Family Resource Center
The Monica and Christopher Furman Family Resource Center provides patients, families and associates access to a wide array of services at CHOC, as well as community resources and information. Our goal is to provide a warm, welcoming environment where patients and families may come to seek comfort and education.
The Family Resource Center offers patients and families a gifting library of brand new books with recreational and health-related books, arts and crafts, an adult business center as well as other programs. The business center offers guest computers, internet, copy, printer, fax and a phone charging station.
Programs at the Family Resource Center
Health and Healing Library
Our Health and Healing Library offers medical and developmental books on various diagnoses, stress management and general health and wellness. This library includes books on various topics such as diabetes, epilepsy, grief and loss, surgery, mental health as well as many other health-related topics. Many of these books are written for children ranging from early childhood to young adult. The goal of this program is to provide education and improve health literacy for our patients and families by enabling them to use these materials to make better informed health-related decisions.
