CHOC and Rady Children’s Have Joined Forces
CHOC is now part of Rady Children’s Health, expanding access to exceptional pediatric care across Southern California. You may still see both names during the transition, but your care isn’t changing — you’ll continue with the same trusted doctors, nurses and care teams. Insurance coverage may vary, so please check with your health plan for details.
Visitor limitations for CHOC Orange and CHOC Mission:
Due to an increase of respiratory viruses, and for the safety of our patients, families and staff, Rady Children’s Health Orange County will be limiting visitors from January 5 to March 31, 2026 (these dates may change due to early or late circulation of virus). Please note:
For hospitalized patients:
- Three individuals (two parents/guardians and an additional individual, which can include a sibling 12 years and older, or a surrogate for an extended stay) who are well will be permitted to visit during this time. Visiting hours are from 8am-8pm daily. Only parents/guardians will be permitted after hours.
- Siblings younger than 12 years are not permitted, with the exception of siblings who are breastfeeding. They are permitted in patient rooms for feedings during visiting hours.
- For extended hospitalizations that are 7 days or longer, parents/guardians may list up to four surrogates. Parents/guardians will complete the Winter Viral Limited Visitation Form with your inpatient nurse to identify your designated surrogate and siblings. Surrogate names will not be changed for the duration of the admission. For your child’s safety, there can be no more than 3 individuals at the bedside.
- Proper hand hygiene is necessary each time you enter and exit the patient’s room.
- Patients in isolation and their parents/guardians will not be allowed to visit the playrooms or other patient rooms. Child Life Specialists have activities that can be brought to the isolation rooms.
- When the patient is visiting public areas in the hospital (given approval from the patient’s physician), please remember to use good hand hygiene and stay at least 3 feet away from others.
For non-hospital visits such as lab, radiology, rehabilitation, OPI, urgent care, or clinics; we encourage one adult to accompany the child. Please avoid bringing extra family members to appointments and waiting areas.
We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and appreciate your partnership in helping us to protect all the children and families we serve. If you have any questions, please speak to your Rady Children’s Health nurse or physician.
Thank you,
Rady Children’s Health Infection Prevention & Epidemiology Team
