Dr. Gabriel Arom, Otolaryngology (ENT)

Dr. Arom specializes in the care of children with microtia and aural atresia, including single-stage ear reconstruction using the SuPor porous polyethylene framework, an alternative to traditional multi-stage rib cartilage reconstruction. He completed advanced microtia and ear reconstruction training at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles and provides comprehensive care that includes reconstruction and hearing restoration with bone-conduction hearing implants such as Sentio, Osia, and Bonebridge.

He also uses advanced techniques, including endoscopic temporoparietal fascia flap (TPFF) harvest with indocyanine green (ICG) angiography, to help optimize surgical outcomes. Dr. Arom performed the first Sentio bone-conduction implant at CHOC.

For infants born with misshapen but fully formed ears, Dr. Arom offers non-surgical ear molding, an incision-free treatment that can reshape the ear during the newborn period and often reduce the need for surgery later in childhood. Dr. Arom also performs otoplasty (ear pinning) for prominent ears, as well as complex and revision otoplasty, Stahl’s ear correction, and earlobe repair and reconstruction.

Dr. Arom treats thyroglossal duct cysts, the most common congenital neck mass in children, using advanced surgical techniques designed to reduce the risk of recurrence. He completed specialized training in this approach at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles.

Dr. Arom provides surgical care for children and teens with thyroid disease, including thyroid nodules and thyroid cancer. He completed high-volume thyroid surgery training at Loma Linda University.
