Biography
Dr. Sumina Fukami was born in Tokyo and spent her first twelve years of life in Japan before moving to the U.S. with her family. She graduated from University of California, Irvine with double major in Biology and Chemistry. Subsequently, she attended Medical College of Wisconsin where she received her doctorate degree. Dr. Fukami completed her pediatric training at University of California Irvine Medical Center and Long Beach Memorial Medical Center/Miller Children’s Hospital in 2004. She also completed additional year and half of Pediatric Nephrology Fellowship training before joining Los Alamitos Pediatric medical group in 2006.
Dr. Fukami is board certified in Pediatrics and a fellow of American Academy of Pediatrics. Her interest lies in Early Childhood Development and preventive medicine.
Dr. Fukami lives with her husband, a family physician, and three young children in Huntington Beach. She enjoys baking, reading, and spending time with her family and friends.
