Dr. Christina L. Greene, Thoracic & Cardiac Surgery
Christina L. Greene, MD, is a congenital cardiothoracic surgeon who specializes in treating newborns, infants, children, and young adults with congenital heart disease. She cares for patients with a wide range of heart conditions, including the most complex congenital heart defects, and has expertise in neonatal and infant heart surgery, congenital valve repair, single ventricle palliation and biventricular repair, minimally invasive congenital repairs, heart transplant, ventricular assist devices and ECMO support.
Dr. Greene serves as Director of Cardiac Surgery and Co-Director of the CHOC Heart Institute, and Associate Professor of Surgery at UCLA. In these roles, she helps advance pediatric heart care, surgical innovation, and physician education.
She completed advanced congenital heart surgery training at Boston Children’s Hospital, following cardiothoracic surgery training at Stanford University. She earned her medical degree from the Keck School of Medicine of USC and her undergraduate degree in biology from MIT.
In addition to caring for patients, Dr. Greene is an accomplished researcher focused on improving outcomes for children with congenital heart disease. Her work explores the genetic causes of heart defects and innovative ways to make heart surgery safer and more effective. She has authored numerous peer-reviewed publications and regularly presents her research at national and international medical conferences.
