Dr. Nina X. Hwang, Pediatric Hematology
Dr. Nina Hwang is board certified in pediatrics. Prior to joining CHOC, Dr. Hwang attended medical school at Chicago Medical School/Rosalind Franklin University in North Chicago, Illinois. She served her pediatric residency and completed her fellowship training in pediatric hematology-oncology at CHOC. Dr. Hwang speaks fluent Mandarin.

- Anemia, including sickle cell anemia, thalassemia, iron deficiency and lead toxicity
- White cell and immune deficiency disorders
- Aplastic anemia
- Bone marrow failure syndromes

- Vascular malformation/hemangiomas

- Prevention of bleeding and clotting problems, with particular experience in caring for patients on cardiopulmonary bypass
- Region IX Hemostasis/Thrombosis Program, including free educational materials for healthcare providers and parents
- Regional center for the treatment of anemia caused by ingestion of lead
- Outpatient care with access to short-term infusions for autoimmune and immunodeficiency disorders.
