Dr. Pilar Pichon, Child Neurology

Dr. Pilar Pichon is a board-certified child neurologist at CHOC in Orange County, California. As an expert in pediatric neurology and epilepsy, Dr. Pichon cares for babies, kids and teens with a wide variety of neurologic and neurodevelopmental conditions. She specializes in the care of patients with epilepsy, autism, ESES, history of prematurity, Rett Syndrome, traumatic brain injury (TBI) and congenital heart disease.

She is a part of the Epilepsy Surgery Program and the Ketogenic Diet Program, and she will be collaborating with the Thompson Autism and Neurodevelopmental Center at CHOC to start the Rett Syndrome Center of Excellence.

Dr. Pichon has been awarded research grants to study the neurodevelopmental outcomes of children with congenital heart disease and the role of the ketogenic diet in functional recovery in moderate to severe TBI. She has co-authored papers on the long-term safety and efficacy of cannabidiol in patients with treatment-resistant epilepsies.
