Flexibility Waivers

At Rady Children’s Health, every improvement we make is guided by one promise — to keep children safe while providing the most advanced care possible. Sometimes, new technology or care spaces don’t fit perfectly within older state regulations. In those cases, Rady works closely with the California Department of Public Health (CDPH) to request a Program Flexibility Waiver.

These waivers allow us to use modern, evidence-based approaches that meet — or exceed — all safety standards. Each request is thoroughly reviewed and approved by CDPH before implementing.
