Seacrest Studios is CHOC’s in-house multimedia broadcast center. Thanks to a partnership with the Ryan Seacrest Foundation, CHOC patients can explore the creative realms of radio, television and new media right from their hospital rooms. CHOC is one of about a dozen children’s hospitals nationwide – and the only on the West Coast — to have this resource available for patients and families.
On-demand Entertainment
The 700-square-foot studio located on the second floor of the Bill Holmes Tower includes five guest microphones; production-quality video cameras and radio equipment; and a green screen that allows patients to participate in video projects. The studio has a full-time program director with a background in broadcast journalism and television production. Programming includes radio and television shows, game shows, celebrity interviews and performances. Patients can join the fun by coming to the studio or participating from their rooms. The studio programming is broadcast to patient rooms via closed-circuit television on channel 55. Patients can also request songs or host shows by calling 15555 from their hospital phone.
Special Guests
Since the opening of Seacrest Studios, CHOC has provided patients with hours of programming, musical guests and interviews with celebrities like Kobe Bryant, Jennifer Garner, Lil Nas X, The Wanted, and Kylie and Kendall Jenner.

Internship Program
Seacrest Studios incorporates a hands-on internship program with local college students who are studying film, television broadcasting, journalism and communications. Interns work individually and in teams to provide on-air content for patients and families. The interns play a key role in providing a more enriching and therapeutic hospital experience. The internship is also a great opportunity for students to expand their professional resume and develop broadcasting and journalism industry-standard skills.
