Meena Tanwar-Ahuja, M.D., Ph.D. is a board-certified pediatrician and a fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics. She grew up in Ft. Worth, TX but ventured out to California for her undergraduate studies at the University of California, Berkeley. She majored in Molecular and Cellular Biology. After graduating, she decided to pursue a career in research and completed her Ph.D. in Cancer Biology from the University of Texas Houston Health Science Center-M.D. Anderson Cancer Center.
She found that while she loved research, she missed the human aspect of caring for patients. She attended medical school at Texas Tech University and completed her Pediatric residency from the University of Arizona in Tucson. She has practiced General Pediatrics since 2012. She moved to CA with her husband and children 10 years ago. She speaks Hindi and medical Spanish. She has been a part of various university-based, hospital- based and private practice clinics.
Dr. Meena Tanwar-Ahuja found her calling with outpatient pediatrics. She enjoys building connections and trust with her patients’ families. She enjoys preventative medicine as well as caring for the sick.
In her free time, she stays busy with her 4 children and their activities. She enjoys both performing and teaching Indian dance, reading, exercising, and watching football with her family. She is very excited to join the SOCPA family and looks forward to caring for your children.
