Dr. Kornswiet was born and raised in Southern California. He graduated from the University of Miami in Florida as an undergraduate and then went on to obtain a Master’s degree in Biomedical Engineering with a focus on Biomechanics at UC Irvine. He attended medical school at Western University of Health Sciences in Pomona, California and then went on to his pediatric residency at Akron Children’s Hospital in Akron, Ohio. He then stayed on at Akron Children’s Hospital for a fellowship in Sports Medicine before moving back to California to join Sea View Pediatrics in 2019.
Dr. Kornswiet is seeing patients as a pediatrician and also as a specialist in pediatric sports medicine. He has special training in assessing and treating bone, joint, and tendon issues and concussions in children and adolescents. He is also trained in using ultrasound to help with diagnosis and therapeutic injections. Dr. Kornswiet is a team physician for Northwood High School in Irvine and has been a team physician for many teams including at the Division 1 college level.
In his free time he enjoys spending time with his wife and two active boys, golfing, grilling, and cheering on the Angels and Ducks.
Dr. Kornswiet rounds on newborn babies at the following hospitals: Mission Hospital, CHOC at Mission Hospital, Hoag Hospital Irvine and Saddleback Medical Center.
