CHOC is committed to protecting your privacy when you visit our web sites, so we want you to know what information we collect when you visit our site and how we use it. Information We Collect

We collect various types of information from our visitors so we can adjust our site to meet our users’ needs and expectations. Some of this information is collected automatically through web analytics tools and other information is collected when you fill out one of the forms on our site.

From time to time, we may also use your information to contact you for market research or to provide you with marketing information we think would be of particular interest. Your Privacy

CHOC does not sell, rent, or trade any personal data submitted by visitors to our site to any third parties. The company respects the privacy of users visiting our site and will abide by all applicable laws concerning the release of personal information. On occasion we may use certain directory information that we have collected to send you information about products and services, or updates and other information we think may be of interest to you. If you tell us that you do not wish to have this information used as a basis for further contact with you, we will respect your wishes. Data you provide to us will be held in strict confidence by the company and will be used for company purposes only. We will not share your personal data with anyone else, unless you give us permission, or as may be required by law.

Our privacy policies apply only to official CHOC web sites. This site contains links to other sites, including sites that may indicate a special relationship with us. While we do not disclose personally identifiable information to those operating these linked sites, we are not responsible for the privacy practices of such other sites. You should read the privacy policies of each site you visit to determine what information that site may be collecting about you.

SMS

No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Information collected during the SMS opt in process will not be shared with any third parties, including affiliate or business partners. The opt-in is not transferable to another party involved in the process. Your use of SMS is subject to your carrier’s terms of use, and CHOC is not responsible for any of those terms. Use of the MyCHOC app and the CHOC Link patient portal:

The MyCHOC app is a free app available for download from the Apple App Store (terms | privacy) and the Google Play Store (terms | privacy). Through this app you can access some of your or your child’s health information from the medical records maintained by Children’s Hospital of Orange County. Use of the MyCHOC app requires a CHOC Link account. CHOC Link is the patient portal for Children’s Hospital of Orange County. By using CHOC Link or the MyCHOC app, you agree to the Terms of Use for the CHOC Link patient portal.

CHOC does not collect or share utilization data or personal health information about visitors while using our CHOC Link patient portal or the MyCHOC app. For information about how medical information is used and disclosed, please view our Notice of Privacy Practices.

The MyCHOC app uses technologies developed by third parties, such as the Google Maps API. These technologies are not offered by CHOC, but by other entities. Your use of these technologies is subject to that entities’ website or application’s terms of use, and CHOC is not responsible for any of those terms.
