CHOC Mission Names New Patient Care Services Director

Emma SandhuCHOC Children’s at Mission Hospital has named a new director of patient care services.

Veteran nurse Emma Sandhu will assume her new role May 24, following more than a dozen years at CHOC Children’s.

“I am excited for new challenges at CHOC Mission,” Sandhu said. “Working for a hospital that is committed to excellence and providing high-quality care makes me so proud. I look forward to finding more ways of serving our patients and families, as well as my colleagues.”

Sandhu began her career at CHOC in 2002 as a pediatrics manager at the health system’s campus in Orange. Through the years, she has served in multiple capacities, including clinical nurse, charge nurse and, most currently, nurse manager of the pediatric intensive care unit. Sandhu has also worked at other hospitals including Rady Children’s Hospital, UC Irvine Medical Center and St. Joseph’s Hospital in Arizona.

Emma is currently pursuing her master’s degree in nursing and expects to complete her coursework in the next year.

“Emma is recognized as a fair-minded, strong leader with excellent communication and analytical skills,” said Marcia Folli, hospital administrator and chief nursing officer at CHOC Mission. “She leads with a focus on quality and service outcomes.”
