CHOC has launched a new mobile platform to enhance your healthcare experience, and to provide you with a way to easily connect with CHOC using your mobile device for your pediatric healthcare needs. This includes managing a portion of your child’s healthcare on your mobile phone for appointment confirmations, mobile check in, payment options, and on demand messaging.

The platform has many features which will be released in the coming months. You will be able to perform the following using your mobile phone:

  • Confirm or cancel appointments
  • Receive alerts from CHOC in real-time
  • Check in for appointments prior to your arrival at CHOC
  • Conveniently pay for services

Note: There is no fee for this enhanced service (standard text messaging rates apply).

I received a text message from my child’s healthcare provider.
Why?

CHOC has launched a new mobile platform to provide you with the convenience of managing a portion of your child’s healthcare on your mobile phone.

When should I receive a text from my child’s provider?

As long as you have a cell phone number on file, you will receive a text message from your child’s provider. Typically, this happens within two days of your visit. If you do not click the link in the first text message, a reminder text will be sent 24 hours before your appointment.

What if I need to cancel my child’s appointment?

If you need to cancel your appointment, you can reply “x” to the text message. (The “x” is not case sensitive.) If you no longer have the message or want to reschedule the appointment, you can reach out to your doctor’s office directly.

What should I do if I do not want to receive text messages?

Simply reply with “STOP” to any text message from your child’s provider.

What should I do if I want to begin receiving text messages
again?

Send the word “RESUME” to an existing text message. If you no longer have the message, send it to 82273. The word “Resume” is not case sensitive. This will opt you back in to receive future messages.

What is on-demand messaging?

On-demand messaging allows your child’s healthcare provider to send you alerts in real time.

What information is available with on-demand messaging?

Information sent via on-demand messaging may include weather related closures, long wait times, etc.

When do I receive on-demand messages?

Messages are sent by your child’s provider between 7am-6pm local time.

Do I need to download an application on my phone?

No.

Is there a fee to use on-demand messaging?

No; however, standard text messaging rates from your cell phone provider may apply.

Mobile Check-In

What is it for?

When should I receive a text from my child’s provider?

If you have a cell phone number on file with the practice, you will receive a text message from your child’s provider 24 hours prior to the visit. If you do not access the link in the first text message, a second will be sent two hours prior to the appointment.

What if I need to cancel my child’s appointment?

If you need to cancel your appointment, you can reply “x” to the text message. (The “x” is not case sensitive.) If you no longer have the message or want to reschedule the appointment, you can reach out to your doctor’s office directly.
