Target Audience
Physicians, Nurse Practitioners, Nurses, Social Workers, first responders, therapists, students, bereaved parents, clergy, and all who have experienced grief and loss.
Objectives
Learn how to identify grief and how it manifests physiologically
Learn how to build trust and safety after trauma occurs
Learn how to support each other through grief
Learn what to say and not to say during difficult conversations
Accreditation
Nurses: The California Board of Registered Nursing recognizes that Continuing Medical Education (CME) is acceptable for meeting RN continuing education requirements; if the course is certified for AMA PRA Category 1 Credit™ (rn.ca.gov). Nurses will receive a Certificate of Attendance following this activity that may be used for license renewal.
Social Workers: Course meets the qualifications for 9.5hours of continuing education credit for LMFTs, LCSWs, LPCCs, and LEPs as required by the board of Behavioral Sciences. CHOC Children’s is approved by the California Association of Marriage and Family Therapists to sponsor continuing education for LCSWs, LMFTs, LPCCs, and LEPs (#141829). CHOC Children’s maintains responsibility for this program/course and its content. Certificates will be provided for participants who sign in and out. Accommodations are available upon request. Grievances may be directed to Clinical Education.
Physicians: CME approval pending
All continuing medical education activities are subject to cancellation. In the event that this conference would have to be cancelled, CHOC Children’s is not responsible for any airfare, hotel or other costs incurred by participants. In the event of an emergency, we reserve the right to cancel a session or substitute a qualified speaker.
