ORANGE (CBSLA.com) — After days of spending on ourselves and loved ones, Tuesday after Thanksgiving is meant to show selfless acts of charity.
CBS2’s Orange County reporter Michele Gile shows us the spirit behind Giving Tuesday.
Everyday is taco day at Jimboy’s Taco’s but on “Giving Tuesday” this popular chain’s new Anaheim location is all about community.
“We love to give back, that’s something we do at all of our grand openings,” Karen Knudson, President of Jimboy’s Tacos said. “We like to give back to a local, something important to people around us.”
The health of children in Southern California tops that list.
Jimboy’s Tacos is planning to donate all month to Children’s Hospital of Orange County to support programs like music therapy.
“CHOC is a part of this community, it takes a village to make it work and every little bit helps,” CHOC Senior Vice-President Kerri Ruppert Schiller said.
Planet Beauty is all about the kids too. It announced that a portion of sales at the Dana Point store at a special event the evening of December 8 will benefit CHOC
Back at Jimboy’s, 20 percent of all of the food sold at the restaurant across from Disneyland until 11 o’clock Tuesday night will help people with Cerebral Palsy.
“It’s nice to give back and not just get for yourself,” Lauren Pollack, a Jimboy’s customer said. “It’s nice to see more people giving back on Giving Tuesday.”
