GENE'S STORY

Registered nurse Gene Paredes loves working with parents in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at CHOC at Mission. As a father - and a second-generation male nurse, he particularly enjoys educating new dads and giving them the confidence to care for their infants. Gene advocates for family-centered care, partnering with families to provide the best treatment for his young patients. He says nursing is his calling, and the families who come through the unit couldn't agree more.
