Miracle girl, sport and outdoor enthusiast Paige Looney eagerly looks forward to her surf lessons and wearing her custom-made wetsuit. Life is an adventure for a young girl that has endured five open-heart surgeries, leg amputations and a skeletal deformity. Paige's team of orthopaedic doctors and nurses at Children's Hospital of Orange County (CHOC) agree there is no stopping her.
Paige is an amazing sight to others when she visits CHOC. She approaches other patients in the playroom as she receives curious glances due to the stumps she wears on her legs. She is accustomed to the attention and makes friends easily with her friendly and extroverted personality.
A patient since she was nine weeks old, Paige now visits CHOC's Orthopaedic experts for routine scoliosis care. Connie Looney, Paige's mother appreciates the hospital's patient-centered care.
"As a parent, my experience with CHOC has been flawless. The care Paige has received has been excellent," said Connie. "The entire CHOC team has bent over backwards in providing comprehensive and outstanding care to Paige."
Although still young, Paige has experienced very scary moments. She has overcome them with CHOC by her side. The CHOC family will continue to cheer Paige on as she plays soccer and basketball and takes on triathlon challenges!
