Pediatric emergency rooms offer child-friendly features to ease the fear and anxiety of children and their parents, while equipment and amenities tailored to young patients ensures the highest quality of care. CHOC patients are separated from the adult emergency department patients to avoid exposure to traumatic situations. Child life specialists are also available to help alleviate emotional stresses our young patients may have and to provide distraction through play exercises during treatment or procedures.
